A proposal has been submitted to the Ministry of Finance to allow consumers with the opportunity to purchase liquor on-line through supermarket chains, the Excise Department said.  

Excise Spokesman Kapila Kumarasinghe said requests had been pouring in from various parties to allow the purchase of liquor on-line from supermarkets.   He said the said recommendations had already been submitted to the Ministry of Finance.  He also said conditional permission could be obtained from the Ministry.
