In response to the human-elephant conflict that has resulted in the deaths of 38 humans and 170 elephants in 2023 alone, concerned citizens will gather in a planned protest tomorrow, Wednesday, at 9 a.m. in front of the Wildlife Department’s main office in Rajagiriya. The protest is organized by the Loving Generation for Human Elephant Breath Organization. According to the organization’s statement, a total of 146 humans and 439 elephants lost their lives in the conflict during 2022. The statement also highlights the diminishing confidence in the Wildlife Department due to their perceived inaction on the matter.

The Loving Generation for Human Elephant Breath Organization is a dedicated civil organization committed to wildlife conservation in Sri Lanka, striving to protect the lives of both humans and the endangered elephant population.
