Some 275 famililes residing at Kajima watte in house’s which caught fire recently are not qualified to receive housing in accordance with the Urban Reawakening project which was launched in 2011. The report of Urban Development Authority (UDA) on the fire had revealed.
The report was handed over to the Secretary Ministry of Housing and Construction over the weekend.
Some of these families have been settled in 2011 while more families have been settled in the five acre land for political reasons even after 2015. However those who have been settled in Kajima watte had been given permanent residence by the then government Families who have come from various areas have been settled in Kajima watte after 2015.
