Sri Lanka is to seek Japanese assistance to resolve some of the issues it is being confronted with at international forums, Foreign Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris said.
The Minister told a news conference recently that Japan had already played that role in presenting and interpreting Sri Lanka’s point of view to other countries.
He said Japan is well qualified to do it because of empathy, compassion, gentleness and consensus shown by Japanese culture.
He made these remarks at the press conference jointly conducted with the Japanese Embassy last week to mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
