Roads to be developed in Kerawalapitiya industrial estate

Development of the Kerawalapitiya Industrial Estate Road is to be expedited to attract investors, State Minister for Rural Roads and Other Infrastructure Nimal Lanza said.  

State Minister Lanza has instructed the relevant authorities to complete the development work on the Wattala-Kerawalapitiya Industrial Estate Road as soon as possible.  


The distance of this road which is being developed under four lanes is 2.2 km. Under the first phase, a distance of 0.5 km from Gas Kade Junction to Kerawalapitiya Interchange will be developed under four lanes.  
The road will be developed to attract investors, with formal drainage systems, street lights, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, four roundabouts, a service yard and planting trees to go along with the construction of road.   
A sum of Rs. 123 million has been allocated for the initial phase of this road which is being developed with the direct labor contribution of the Road Development Authority.  


State Minister, Nimal Lanza said that steps will be taken to develop the associated road systems as infrastructure development is very important to encourage investors.
