SJB Chairman Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka made an early exit from the party’s May Day Rally in Fort yesterday.
He left shortly before party leader Sajith Premadasa’s speech.
Fonseka was seen greeting MPs and Buddhist clergy before he left the rally.
One of the organizers of the rally Mujibur Rahaman told Daily Mirror that the field Marshal was not given a speech as he is involved in a legal battle with the party.
Meanwhile, SJB MPs Rajitha Senaratne and Thalatha Athukorala were notable absentees at the party’s May Day Rally in Fort yesterday.
All Ceylon Makkal Kachchi Leader SJB alley Rishard Bathiudeen, was another absentee.
Another feature was the prominence given to MPs G. L Peiris and Dilan Perera. They were given front seats.
