Parliament sessions came to an abrupt end yesterday as the SJB MPs were absent as per their decision to boycott sitting over the incidents which occurred on Saturday.
The SJB MPs decided to boycott the sessions, alleging that some government MPs tried to assault Manusha Nanayakkara at the lobby on Saturday over the comments he made with regard to State Minister Kanchana Wijesekera.
MP Shantha Bandara who was at the chair adjourned the sessions around 12. 30 pm.
Meanwhile, SJB MP Ranjith Madduma Bandara told Daily Mirror that MPs of his party will not attend the sessions till the security of MPs is ensured. “We are also ready to have a dialogue with Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana with regard to the matter.
