Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Colombo District candidate Charith Abeysinghe who described the social media report on his imprisonment in the UK as an act of mudslinging said he had lodged a complaint with the Election Commission.
He accused the ruling National People’s Power (NPP) of slinging mud at him over social media.
“This is third-class politics of NPP,” he told Daily Mirror.
Much was said about the SJB candidate over social media, while wide publicity was given to his recent comments during a TV show on providing weapons to MPs. Abeysinghe said weapons given to MPs ensuring their security is not a luxury. “One’s security has become an important factor today,” he said during this talk show.
