Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) is contemplating bringing in a no-confidence motion against the Health Minister, Keheliya Rambukwella, a party senior said yesterday.

SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara told Daily Mirror that his party has begun discussing the possibility of bringing a no-confidence motion against the incumbent Health Minister, “We are discussing the move and no final decision is made on the matter as yet,” he said.

Minister Rambukwella has been facing much criticism with regard to procuring of medicines and on the alleged scandals involved in the process. He has also been criticized for not taking action to prevent medical negligence.
A no-confidence motion has been given priority when it comes to the business of the House once it is handed over to the Speaker.
