Samagi Jana Balawegaya MPs started signing the no confidence motion which is to be brought against Minister Udaya Gammanpila at the opposition leaders office yesterday.
As per the motion ten allegations have been made against Minister Gammanpila.
This include failing in his duty of obtaining Cabinet’s approval for the fuel price hike under section 43(1) of the constitution, failure to follow the government procedures under section 27 of the constitution, failure to convert the CPC into a financially viable institution and failure to provide the benefit of the global fuel price reduction to public last year. The motion is to be handed over to Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardene next week according to SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara.
