Questioning the sincerity of the government to form an all party government, Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa yesterday said Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) cannot support the proposal to pay compensation to state workers who have been victimized during the Yahapalana government.
“ Is the government seeking opposition support to pay compensation to a handful of state workers at a time the nation is hit by its worst financial crisis? We in the SJB will not be a party to such an unfair deal,” Premadasa said during a meeting of party activists yesterday.
He said the government should use its funds to support the entire population of the country rather than supporting a handful of government servants who were engaged in political exercises.
Also he said no SJB MP will be a part of auctioning ministries. “ None of us will accept any ministries in the government,” he reiterated.
