Sajith alleges Govt poised to devour 12,000 acres of Yala National Park

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, yesterday alleged that the government was planning to take away 12,000 acres from the Yala National Park, block one for unknown purposes.

In a tweet, Premadasa claimed that according to information from reliable sources, it was also confirmed that illegal roadways were to be constructed through the National Park up to Akasa Chaitya.  

Premadasa said he himself and the SJB vehemently opposed such an illegal move by the government and the opposition would use all democratic and legal means to oppose this anti environmental effort of the government.
