Three suspects including Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) parliamentarian Sanath Nishantha and Moratuwa Mayor Saman Lal Fernando were yesterday ordered to be released on bail by Colombo
Fort Magistrate.

They were held in remand custody in connection with the incidents that took place at Temple Trees and Galle Face on May 9.

However, the leader of Nawa Sinhale National Organisation Dan Priyasad was further remanded till June 22 by the Colombo Fort Magistrate. The Court was informed that Dan Priyasad had violated bail conditions imposed in connection with another pending case before court.    Taking into consideration the remand period and public reaction against the suspects, Magistrate Thilina Gamage ordered to release each suspect on two sureties of one million rupees. The court also barred three suspects from leaving the country.
