Several spells of showers will occur in Northern and North-central Provinces

Showery conditions over South-western part (Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern Provinces) of the island and the windy condition over the island are likely to enhance during the next few days with some places expected to experience over 100 mm of rain, the Department of Meteorology said yesterday.
Showers or thundershowers are expected to occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Northwestern and Southern Provinces. Heavy falls of about 100 mm can be expected at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya and Puttalam Districts. Several spells of showers will occur in Northern and Northcentral Provinces. Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in Eastern and Uva Provinces during the evening or night. Wind speed can increase up to (50-55) kmph at times in the Western slope of the Central hills, Northern, North-central and North-western Provinces and in Hambantota District.
