Sri Lanka, Cuba to share each other’s experience in water supply

The Cuban government is willing to provide knowledge and support of experts from the State Water Supply and Drainage Agency to Sri Lankan water supply projects, a statement from the Water Supply Ministry said.   
The statement said it would include knowledge of engineers and experts of the water sector. Cuban ambassador Andrés Marcelo González Garrido made this request when he met Minister Vasudeva Nanayakkara at the Ministry of Water Supply today.  


Speaking on the occasion, Nanayakkara stated that the Cuban Government and the Sri Lankan Government had a long-standing friendship and that his visit was valued as it strengthened friendship.   

“Our Ministry is pleased to obtain the knowledge and technical assistance of the Cuban Government in Water Supply and in return will extend the knowledge of engineers and experience in Sri Lanka to the Cuban State Water Supply agency at your invitation,” he said.  


The Minister further stated that we will start working on this request immediately without delaying the request of the Cuban Ambassador.  


Advisor to Minister Sandaka Gunasekera, Coordinating Secretaries D.V.D. Thilakasiri and Dudley Kalansuriya were also present .
