Sri Lanka will face adverse repercussions due to the recent remarks made by Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa that Sri Lanka engaged in arms deals with North Korea using “undial” remittance systems, The SJB said yesterday.
SJB MP Mujibur Rahman told a press conference that Sri Lanka will be known as a country which engages in black market deals violating global economic norms.
“ We cannot expect foreign investors to come to Sri Lanka when finance ministers act in the way they have acted, MP Rahman said.
“ The Minister of Foreign Affairs was quick to deny the report on the remark made by Rajapaksa as he knows how Sri Lanka will be effected by it,” he added.
