Leader of opposition should come up with his stand on Pastor Jerome who is at the centre of controversy as there are suspicions that he also had connections with the preacher, Former MP P. Harrison alleged.
Harrison who held a media briefing yesterday questioned as to why the Leader of Opposition is silent on the issue.
“Pastor Jerome had made insulting statements on the Buddha. Many have come up with statements with regard to this pastor. President Ranil Wickremesinghe had called for a probe on the preacher. Statement made by this pastor could disturb religious and ethnic harmony. We wonder why the Leader of Opposition is silent about it. We are suspicious that he has a connection to the preacher,” the former MP said.
The MP also alleged that Premadasa had phoned his wife and his brother and told them to stop him from leaving SJB. “Leader of Opposition had called my wife and my brother and told them to stop me from leaving SJB. I have audio clips of the conversations which Premadasa has had with my wife and brother. However I don’t want to become another Ranjan Ramanayake. I am willing to release them if Mr.Premadasa allows me to do it,” he said in this regard.
