The Tamil National Alliance (TNA), Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA), All Ceylon Makkal Congress(ACMC), and Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) decided to back Dullas Alahapperuma in the vote to elect a new President today.
Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA) unanimously decided to support Dullas Alahapperuma, TPA leader Mano Ganesan MP told media after the party praesidium meeting held at the party secretariat at Nugegoda. Also, All Ceylon Makkal Congress and Sri Lanka Muslim Congress decided to back Mr. Alahapperuma as well.
Meanwhile MP Harin Fernando said a section of TNA, SJB, SLFP MPs will vote in favour of acting President Ranil Wickremesinghe despite their parties decision to vote for Dullas Alahapperuma.
