Receiving two doses of COVID-19 vaccine will be made mandatory by early next year, Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said.
He told reporters yesterday that it would take at least three months to finalise this.“The legal procedure in this regard is being arranged. There is no doubt and logic that everyone should get both the doses,” he highlighted. “We are contemplating introducing an app rather than a vaccine card to prove that one has been administered with both the
doses,” he added. Minister Rambukwella announced in Parliament in early November that Attorney General has granted the green light and there is no legal barrier to make the COVID-19 vaccination certificate mandatory when visiting public places.
