Two found dead inside toilet at N’Eliya bus stand

The public male toilet at Nuwara Eliya main bus stand on Mosque Road was sealed off by health authorities yesterday in the wake of the death of two individuals who went into the toilet.  

HQI Nuwara Eliya Police CI Premalal Hettiarachchi said the police initiated a formal investigation into the incident.   
Police said the deceased were Mohamed Imtiaz Fhasal (71) of Mosque Road and Ajith Nissanka (27) of Bagawanthalawa. The former had died when he had gone into the toilet on Wednesday evening (26) and the latter last morning, HQI said an unbearable stench pervaded the toilet.   
He said bodies of the two men were referred to the JMO Nuwara Eliya General Hospital and that he initiated investigations with the help of Nuwara Eliya MOH.   PHI Nuwara Eliya Municipal Council Kithsiri Herath said the men’s toilet was sealed off pending further investigations and only the women’s toilet was open.
