Two robbers who attempted to snatch Rs. 22.3 million from a man who came to deposit the money in a bank were arrested by the Thambuttegama police last evening.The police said two armed robbers, aged 48 and 50 had arrived on a motorcycle.
A policeman who was on duty in the area had managed to apprehend the suspects while they were trying to flee with the robbed money. However, the money was taken to police custody and the robbers were arrested with their weapons. The suspects were residents of Thambuttegama the Thambuttegama police are conducting investigations.
