United National Party yesterday questioned whether the agenda of Selindiva Investments Ltd is vested with the task of diversifying the ownership of state owned institutions, buildings and lands.

While stating that the party’s working committee had decided to question the government about the role played by Selendiva, UNP in an official statement, urged the government to reveal to the  public what it intended doing to state institutions.

“We would like to question whether Parliament approval will be sought for restructuring the state institutions. It is the legislature which has power over state finance and any move to diversify the ownership of state institutions should be approved by it,” the statement added.
