The UNP is to celebrate its 75th anniversary online on September 5, party General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara said yesterday.
Range Bandara told Daily Mirror that the party decided to have an online programme due to the current pandemic situation.
“ The programme will go live on YouTube, Facebook and on zoom from 5pm on September 5. “We have invited the heads of foreign missions in Sri Lanka,members of the clergy and all former UNP parliamentarians to join us” he said.
“ Also the SJB members can join if they want,” he added. “ We will have a welcome speech and then there will be a speech by the party leader. We will reveal the party’s plan for the future during this programme he said.
