UNP Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene who paid a glowing tribute to the Late Chancellor of Kelaniya University and Sangha Nayaka of Colombo and Chilaw Venerable Welamitiyawe Kusaladhamma Thera, said the late Thera used all his strength and abilities to gift to the nation disciplined monks who respect the teachings of Buddha.

“I was shocked to learn the demise of Late Ven. Kusaladhamma Thera who extended his services to all parts of the nation for the betterment of Buddha Sasana. He used all his strength and abilities to gift to the nation disciplined monks who respect the teachings of Buddha,” Mr. Wijewardene said issuing a condolence message. 

“The late Thera came forward whenever there were religious issues in order to resolve them. He was always available to advise us whenever we visited him,” Mr. Wijewardene added.  “The late Thera had left this world at a time the nation needed him most brings tears to our eyes,” he also said.
