The Wakfs Council of Sri Lanka has decided not to permit slaughtering of Qurbani animals within any Mosque premises, the Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Department said.
Accordingly, a notice has been sent to all Mosques informing them the prohibition of slaughtering at Mosque premises. On behalf of the Wakfs Council, its Director A.B.M. Ashraf has sent this order to all mosques. As such, all trustees of mosques were directed not to permit slaughtering of any Qurbani animals within any mosque premises.
