Water levels of rivers rising

Galle district is facing a fresh flood threat as several areas in the district had received rainfall of more than 200mm., the department of meteorology said.   


The water level of the Gin Ganga was rising as a result..The water level of the Kalu Ganga which was rising on Saturday has begun to recede as of last morning. 

Rainfall of nearly 100mm has been recorded in Mannar and the Gampaha District as well.   


The Department of Meteorology forecasted rains exceeding 100 mm during the next few days in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, North and Galle and Matara districts.
