Amãna Takaful Life, which has continually grown and expanded to make a significant mark in the insurance industry in Sri Lanka, hosted its awards ceremony for the year 2017 on a high note, at Galadari Hotel Ballroom recently.
Amãna Takaful PLC Chairman Tyeab Akbarally graced the occasion as the chief guest, alongside the renowned, veteran management consultant, author, trainer and speaker Deepal Sooriyaarachchi, who graced the occasion as the keynote speaker for the night.
‘Annual Awards Night’ is one of the most awaited events in Amãna Takaful Life’s corporate calendar as this splendid event celebrates its top achievers and performers for their efforts and commitment in steering the company to new heights.
The awards night, aptly themed, ‘Widening Horizons’ perfectly framed the organisation’s goals and aspirations for the future. Amãna Takaful shows stability and growth as its net profit amounted to Rs.93 million at the half year ending in June 2017.
Commenting on this performance, Akbarally said, “The stakeholders will be happy to note that in the last 12 months, amidst the challenges in group restructure, listing of the life company and the successful accomplishment of the rights issue, which was necessitated in fulfilling the regulatory requirements, the position of the group has been strengthened for stability
and growth.”

The company’s strategies to boost productivity and to implement tactical insurance solutions have had a greater effect in the significant growth of profit recorded over the years. Amana Takaful Maldives PLC too continues to sustain its GWP at Rs.670 million with a profit outturn of
Rs.44 million.
