On December 12th, the FMJ Holdings Group facilitated their entire staff with an out-bound training programme in Kitulgala.
The opportunity was afforded to all FMJ employees (a total 320 members) who travelled as a group to Kitulgala Adventure Base Camp in eager anticipationof the much needed professional out-bound /wisdom training camp.
The 320 members who attended the training were comprised of labor staff from the Group’s three factories in Henamulla, Hirana and Modarawila as well as the Executive and Managerial staff from FMJ’s Sales, Marketing and Finance divisions located within the Corporate Office premises at Henamulla.
This long awaited training programme which got combined with the organization’s annual staff get-together, made the most out of a single day’s outing. The professionally-organized event which involved some major logistical planning by the FMJ Group’s Human Resources Manager and HR staff was prearranged and strategized in-depth by a separate in-house committee well in advance of the date. The intense logistical preparation organized by this special committee was facilitated with the blessings of the group’s board of directors and other top management officials whose enthusiastic approach was forthcoming from the very onset.
The initial part of the training camp which consisted of a rigorous, military-style physical training program saw all employees from all distinctions of the workforce take partin the entertaining, educational and informative events, all of which were conducted under the stringent supervision of professional guides and instructors, that demanded eachindividual member’s unstinted cooperation and commitment.
The programme, a part of an extensive corporate training package, saw the company’s directors and other senior managers mingling with both junior and senior executive staff alongside machine operators and other technical crew from the three factories as well as sundry minor-staff from all departments, all of whom participated in the various assignments as a single team under the FMJ flag proving that unity and teamwork was indeed the secret to their success.
Elderly, middle-aged and young all indulged in the various games and roll-plays that were a part and parcel of the outward bound training program which is usually offered exclusively to senior and middle managements of the nation’s top corporate entities. The various strategic eventshelped identify the strengths and weaknesses of all candidates and showed distinctly the areas in which they could improve their work abilities and sharpen their talents in.
With the corporate management as well as the entire staff that embarked on this get-together/outing enjoying themselves immensely along with the many memorable life-lessons they brought back with them, the overall trip and training workshop was a profound success to say the least.
