LIC Lanka celebrates Annual Awards Night 2014

Life Insurance Corporation Ltd (LIC Lanka) celebrated its Annual Awards Night for the business achievements of the year 2014 in a colourful glittering ceremony at the beautiful Hotel Taj Bentota recently.

The theme of the AAN was ‘Towards Excellence’. The top performers, i.e. Gold Awardees of 2014, were honoured by LIC Lanka Director and Bartleet Group of Companies Chairman Eraj Wijesinghe. 

In his keynote address, while congratulating the award winners, he emphasized the need for ‘being yourself’ in any successful business. More than 150 qualifiers attended the Awards’ Night from across the island in various categories. There were 29 Gold medal winners, 10 Silver, 21 Bronze and the rest won certificates. LIC Lanka also honoured those employees who have completed five and 10 years of service with LIC Lanka.

Speaking at the occasion, LIC Lanka CEO and MD R. Satheesh Babu urged its field force to raise their productivity level to greater heights to reach every nook and corner of the country to provide better insurance coverage to the people of Sri Lanka. 

He also emphasized that the company is heading towards excellence in the forthcoming scenario of splitting of insurance companies and listing on the stock exchange.

The heads of the top branches were honoured in the function. Colombo City Branch Assistant Branch Manager A.J.M. Shiyard and Ammalan, the Sales Supervisor of the branch that has done the highest business in the company for the year 2014 was specially honoured by Wijesinghe. In the current year also, this branch occupies the top position in first premium income.

The top management of the company attended the event which was a mixture of enriching knowledge, enjoyment and fun.
