It is time once again for the global TADHack, the annual meeting place for telecom application developers around the world to innovate and get inspired.
Locally powered by hSenid Mobile Solutions, TADHack Sri Lanka will be hosted in two satellite locations, Colombo and Jaffna, while the global event will take place in 10 other countries: Lisbon, Madrid, London, Chicago, New Delhi, Israel, Istanbul, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Australia.

"This year’s event will be held on June 13 and 14th, simultaneously broadcast in all 11 countries"

TADHack is primarily for telecom application developers who get together to learn, share, code and innovate using telecom tools and technologies. This year’s event will be held on June 13 and 14th, simultaneously broadcast in all 11 countries.

“This year we expect 100 developers to participate from Sri Lanka and aim for the US$ 35,000 prize pot,” said Dinesh Saparamadu, CEO of hSenid Mobile Solutions, a sponsor for TADhack Global and organizers of TADHack Sri Lanka.  “This is an ideal opportunity for developers, entrepreneurs and start-ups to participate and be eligible for future funding as well as exposure.” Other prizes include free giveaways from Dialog Ideamart, one year’s incubation space at LOFT 1024 and venture funding from Lanka Angel Network (LAN) for the best emerging start up at the event.

One of the rules in this contest stipulates that Sri Lanka’s participants will have to create telco apps using the hSenid Mobile APIs.

Apart from the 24-hour coding and developing that is to be expected, hSenid Mobile Solutions has, like the previous year, organized entertainment to break the tedium and make it a fun event. Another exception to this year’s event is the opportunity for Sri Lanka’s corporates to accept the challenge and enrol teams of five members.

In a run-up to the registration deadline on May 26, hSenid Mobile Solutions will be conducting a series of webinars to guide developers on the processes of using hSenid Mobile APIs and other new technologies like Internet of Things and WebRTC (Real Time Communications).

Saparamadu added that post TADHack 2014, several university students who came up with exceptional apps were awarded funding which eventually allowed them to take their apps to a global platform. In addition, a winning team member was taken to TADSummit held in Istanbul and given the chance to meet international telecom operators and Telco Application developers   earlier this year.
