Kuta Agreement is not the last word
The most popular and used compatibility check methodology that is widely prevalent in our country is Twenty-fold Porondam Comparison (Kuta Agreement) system. However, it is the general acceptance among savants of Astrology that the Kuta Agreement should not be considered the last word on conjugal compatibility. There can be many other Dosha – blemishes either in one of the two horoscopes involved or in both that could lead to the failure of the marriage due to some physical or mental infirmity, clash of temperaments or the early death of a mate.
There are such blemishes so conspicuous in some horoscopes they could be spotted at a glance. Following are among such blemishes.
(1)Kuja Dosha (Mars’ Blemish)
(2) Parivartana Dosha between 7 and 8
(3) Dosha resulting from 7th lord being placed in the 8th Bhava
(4) Dosha resulting from 8th lord being placed in the 7th Bhava
(5) Marriage- causing planet and the 7th lord being placed together in an evil House
(6 Shani- Mangala Dosha
(7) Chandra – Mangala Dosha
(8) Vaiwadya Dosha
(9) Ati-dhavana-kama Dosha (Oversexed Dosha)
(10) Bahuvivaha Dosha (Multiple marriages)
(11) Shani – Rahu Dosha
(12)Vanda Dosha (Childlessness)
(13) Mandayushka Dosha (Short-life)
(14) Shani – Rahu Dosha
1.Kuja Dosha (Mars’ Blemish): This is also called Bhauma Dosha. This blemish is caused when Mars is placed in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th or the 12th Bhava in a Natal Chart or in any of such Bhavas from the signs where either the Moon or Venus is placed.
This blemish gets nullified: 1) If it is present in both horoscopes 2) If Jupiter’s aspect falls on the 7th House or on Mars 3) If Mars is conjunct with Jupiter 4) If Rahu is present in a sign of one horoscope when Mars is present in the corresponding sign of the other horoscope or (5) If Mars is present in the same sign in both horoscopes.
2. Parivartana Dosha between 7 and 8: Parivartana yogas occur under several conditions. For examples, planets exchanging signs falling between quadrants and those falling between quadrants and trines or Moolatrikona come under the category of Maha Parivartana Yoga. The exchange of two evil signs is called a Dainya Parivartana which does not produce good results. A Parivartana (exchange) increases the effects of what the sign represents. A Parivartana between 7 and 8 could lead to an increase of what the two Bhavas represent: 7th Bhava Marriage and 8th Bhava disease. Both kinds of effects are harmful. Therefore, it is obvious that a 7 and 8 Parivartana could lead to the break-up of a marriage. This evil Parivartana gets nullified if the same yoga is present in the partner’s horoscope as well.
3. Dosha resulting from 7th lord being placed in the 8th House: The 7th House represents marriage and the 8th is an evil House and the planet occupies it also turns evil and would harm the House he rules which means the marriage of the native would become a failure.
4. Dosha resulting from the 8th lord being placed in the 7th House: The 8th lord being placed in the 7th House is an indication of the possibility of the subject experiencing sex prior to marriage. Even otherwise, such a yoga could lead to the break-up of the marriage due to a strong extra-marital relationship.
5. Marriage-causing planet and the 7th lord being conjunct in an evil House: The 6th, 8th, and the 12th are the evil Houses or Dusthanas. The conjunction of marriage- causing planet Venus and the 7th lord in one of the three House could lead to the failure of the marriage.
