A legend in Sri Lankan Arts

Visharada Jagath Wickremasinghe can be considered as one of the legends in the Sri Lankan arts and entertainment industry. He has not only gifted the industry with many beautiful songs, as a singer, instrumentalist and composer, but also enlightened many youngsters who are willing to pursue art and entertainment.  Among the many youngsters Mr. Wickremasinghe has mentored, Dr. Concy Perera is special as she has proved that there is no age limit to being mentored under Mr. Wickremasinghe.

 She is fortunate to have received mentorship and guidance from a giant like Mr. Wickremasinghe. Dr. Perera has contributed immensely to the country with her welfare work throughout the span of 50 years. Using her various talents and capabilities, she was a mother not only to her own children but also to many children in the country. She also played a role in the “Asai Man Piyambanna” movie. As of now, she has conquered the music industry too by releasing around 15 songs. Among them is a duet titled “Oba Mage Nisa” sung by her and Mr. Wickremasinghe. The lyrics of all 15 songs are by Ariyasinghe Perera.
