Today on the Buzz, I feature this talented lady, who has carved a place for herself in the beauty industry.

While we have many laws supporting women's rights, their real-world application remains questionable. High statistics of rape and child abuse raise concerns about whether these rights truly reach and protect
every woman.

Q: What would you say is the biggest challenge in doing what you do?

In the high-stakes world of the bridal industry, professionals often find themselves grappling with gruelling schedules, typically spanning from a minimum of 16 hours to sometimes 22 hours a day. Sleepless nights become commonplace as the drive to perfect every detail of a bride’s special day takes precedence. Yet, amidst this whirlwind, the greatest challenge remains—continuously educating oneself, updating skills, and maintaining composure under relentless stress. To thrive in this demanding environment, it is essential to adopt effective strategies that not only enhance professional capabilities but also promote personal well-being.
Q: How is the bridal industry?

Weddings are universally recognized as one of the most significant days in the lives of couples, a time when they seek to look and feel their absolute best. This global sentiment fuels the continuous growth and evolution of the bridal industry, with Sri Lanka standing out as a prime example of this thriving market. In Sri Lanka, weddings are often regarded as once-in-a-lifetime events, prompting families to invest generously in celebrating the union of two souls. This cultural emphasis on grandeur and perfection has created a robust and dynamic bridal industry dedicated to transforming dreams into reality. The bridal industry in Sri Lanka, and globally, is a testament to the timeless significance of weddings. As couples continue to seek the perfect blend of tradition and modernity for their special day, the industry thrives, delivering unparalleled services that make every wedding a memorable celebration. Innovation is a driving force in the bridal industry. From incorporating cutting-edge beauty techniques to utilizing the latest fashion trends, professionals continually enhance their

skills and offerings. This relentless pursuit of improvement ensures that the industry remains vibrant and relevant, meeting the evolving needs of discerning clients.

In essence, the bridal industry is not just about appearances; it's about crafting a magical experience that captures the essence of love and commitment. With each wedding, professionals in this field reaffirm their dedication to making dreams come true, ensuring that every bride and groom feels their best on their most important day.
Q: You are known for your amazing take on how you make a Tamil bride come to life?

I have become known for my distinctive approach to bringing Tamil brides to life by seamlessly blending cutting-edge techniques with deep cultural traditions. In Tamil weddings, the union is revered as a sacred bond, symbolizing the union of Shiva and Parvati. This sacredness guides my choices in colours, draping styles, modesty, and the use of flowers and accessories. By respecting these traditions while incorporating modern techniques, I create a look that honours the rich cultural heritage while enhancing the bride's natural beauty.
Q: You are also trained in skin care and wellness, how did you move into that?

In the bridal industry, our mission is to help people look their best on their big day. However, I believe that looking and feeling beautiful should be an everyday affair. This philosophy led me to expand into skincare and wellness, emphasizing that true beauty comes from being healthy inside and out. By integrating these practices, I help clients achieve daily radiance, ensuring they not only shine on special occasions but every day.
Q: You now work on full weddings services, how early would you say someone should start working on their big day?

Start early for best results. For a flawless wedding day, it's crucial to start preparations at least six months in advance, though a year is ideal. This time allows for developing a comprehensive skincare routine, addressing any special needs like discoloration, and ensuring a healthy, fit body. Early planning also includes choosing the right colours, coordinating the bridal and groom outfits, and perfecting every detail. Starting early ensures that you look and feel your best as you embark on this new chapter in life.
Q: How healthy would you say the industry is? Is there space for more people?

The bridal industry is massive and continually expanding, offering ample opportunities for talented newcomers. However, the rise of editing software and filters on social media can misrepresent artistes' work. Additionally, unregulated skincare products and unverified social media endorsements pose risks to consumers. To ensure safety and quality, there is a need for stricter cosmetic laws and regulations. Despite these challenges, those who commit to ethical practices and creativity can find great success in this lucrative field.
Q: How do you keep yourself positive and energetic?

Maintaining a strong, positive mindset is crucial. I focus on keeping a positive outlook on all aspects of life. Regular exercise, including fitness training, plays a significant role, along with good food habits and adequate sleep. Meditation and doing what makes me happy are essential. Starting my day with my lovely puppies, spreading love and joy, also keeps me energized and ready to tackle life's challenges. Despite hitting fifty, these practices help me stay positive and enthusiastic everyday.
Q:What has been your biggest inspiration?

Nature is my greatest inspiration, serving as a masterful teacher in colour blending and mood creation. Whenever I work on a fashion show, I take time to walk in nature, observing how colours harmonize effortlessly. No one can create better than the true Creator, and I draw endless inspiration from this natural beauty.
Q: What are your thoughts on women’s rights, and do you feel as a country we are heading the right way?

While we have many laws supporting women's rights, their real-world application remains questionable.  High statistics of rape and child abuse raise concerns about whether these rights truly reach and protect every woman. Awareness and access to services are crucial issues we must address. True freedom for women begins within. Education and informed choices are key. Women need to know their rights and how to seek help when needed. Rather than making excuses, we must encourage women to reach out, connect, and harness their inner strength. Positive thinking and energy can attract positive outcomes. As a nation, we need to ensure these principles are not just ideals but realities for every woman.
