Commemorating Prageeth Eknaligoda’s disappearance

The Eknaligoda Forum has organised a ‘holy viradam puja’ in the name of missing cartoonist and journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda to mark the 12th year of his disappearance and people void of the pansakula. The pooja (offering) commences on January 24 at 5.00pm at Nawagamuwa Pattini Devalaya and continues to the Kali Kovil, Mutwal on January 25. The pooja on January 25 commences at 10.30am. 

Eknaligoda was reported missing on January 24, 2010 two days before the Presidential Polls during President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s tenure. Suspicions were vested on the state apparatus and ever since his disappearance his wife Sandya Eknaligoda has continued her battle to serve justice for her 
missing husband. 

 

The pooja (offering) commences on January 24 at 5.00pm at Nawagamuwa Pattini Devalaya and continues to the Kali Kovil, Mutwal on January 25. The pooja on January 25 commences at 10.30am.
