Bandulasena Prathapasinghe Ratnayake born with gifted brilliance,
Adorable, multifaceted personality, sterling qualities par excellence,
Never lethargic, unfailingly kept to his word, even from youth,
Devout Buddhist, respectable family, ‘Prathapasinghe’ down south,
Untimely departure at sixty-eight after a brief ailment, a sexagenarian,
Lacuna created, irreplaceable, possessed penchant for charity, humanitarian,
After graduation from Peradeniya  University, joined educational institute earnestly,
Self-made lad turned Administrative Officer, promoted personnel officer, Palmodai factory,
Efficient Bandula then joined Oils & Fat Corporation as Personnel Manager,
Next at National Savings Bank as Assistant General Manager, succeeded as Deputy Manager,
Annoyed Bandula left bank, joined VoLanka Ltd. as freelance consultant, industrial relations.

Past President, Institute of Personnel Management, a stalwart,
Responsible, respectable Human Recourses Labour Consultant, a mascot,
Among friends, popular as Bandula, seldom lost temper,
Ten tedious years glided away, aches in three hearts still linger.

Hallmarks countless unable to pen in a curtailed appreciation,
Accustomed to methodical issues, achieved unwavering reputation,
Private and public sector organisations, held positions uncountable,
Argued vehemently on falsehood, firmly stood by every single principle,
Spearheaded some policies at IPM, still successful, honoured, followed,
Integrity unquestionable, illustrious career, strict disciplinarian, remembered,
Negligence in his realm never heard, mentioning needles,
Genuine, generous, creative abilities, talents, inborn mindfulness,
Heartfelt deepest sympathies I extend to all bereaved family members,
Embodiment of diligence, your fragrance of togetherness, forgiveness still lingers.

Richmondite Galle, best A student in 1959, gold medalist in pride,
An indispensable officer, wherever attached, capabilities so wide,
Two towers of strength, blessed with daughter Indika, son Sathyajith, both duteous,
Nuptial knot, tied happily, with Lalitha Tennakoon from Kandy, beauteous,
An exemplary figure, MAY YOU ATTAIN THE SUPREME BLISS OF NIRVANA,
Yeoman service, myriad of meritorious deeds performed in Sansara,
As an intimate family friend, I offer this humble eulogy in sincerity,
Kindhearted, devoted husband, loving father, grandpa, great friend in adversity,
Epitome of simplicity, MAY YOUR WISHES IN SANSARA BE ATTAINED!
