‘Gee Weenasa’ A literary insight into lyrics of Sinhala songs

‘Gee Weenasa’, a Sinhala book analysing the poetic  expressions of more than 50 popular songs sung by a collection of singers  representing different generations, was released recently.  
Written by Shashi Prabath Ranasinghe, a journalist and sub-editor at Lankadeepa newspaper, the book presents a deep analysis of some  of the popular songs sung by veterans in Sri Lankan music scene  including W. D. Amaradeva, Visharada Nanda Malani, Victor  Ratnayake, the late Sanath Nandasiri, Sunil Edirisinghe, Gunadasa  Kapuge, Karunaratne Diwulgane, Amarasiri Peiris, Edward Jayakody,  Abeywardena Balasuriya, Malani Bulathsinghala, T. M. Jayaratne, Sunila  Abeysekara, Sujatha Aththanayake, Freddie Silva, Kasun Kalhara, Indika  Upamali and a number of young singers.   
‘Gee Weenasa’ provides full lyrics of the songs featured and provides a deep literary analysis.
