Rising from the ashes, the reconstructed Peter De Abrew Memorial Auditorium and Sports Complex of Musaeus College will be reopened today, giving prominence to the event in a solemn manner by following traditional Buddhist rituals and blessings.
Unfortunately, a tragedy struck on November 4, 2016 burning down the auditorium, incurring a great loss to the school. Reconstruction work and restoration of the auditorium commenced on November 6, 2017and two years later, it is standing with pride.
With the reconstruction of the auditorium, Musaeus College claims the ownership of the largest auditorium by a school in South Asia. It can house many local and international events, meeting the highest standards of the audience.
The highlight of the event will be an all-night Pirith ceremony today, commencing at 8.00 p.m., followed by an alms-giving the next day.
