Several events lined up to celebrate Peterite centenary

A Premier catholic school St. Peter’s College Colombo celebrated its 100th anniversary on January 18, 2022. In recognition of this milestone a Holy Mass and a Champagne Reception was organised by the Old Boys Union UK Branch at Westminster Cathedral, London on January 22. 


The mass was celebrated by Rev Fr, Ruwan Hewawasam. Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to the UK, H.E Mrs Saroja Sirisena graced the occasion. 


More than 20 Sri Lankan school OBA’s, OGA’s and PPA’s were represented when marking this special celebration. Over 250 invited guests were at the Cathedral and the mass was followed by a Champaign reception at the church hall. 


The OBU has planned various events throughout the year to mark this momentous occasion. The highlight among the activities will be the Dinner Dance Labamba Nite scheduled for September 17. The other events lined up are Peterites on Thames (June11), Joe-Pete Big Match (June 26), Saints Quadrangular Cricket Tournament (July 31) and Christmas Carols in December.
