Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya, one of the leading government girls’ schools in Colombo, celebrated its Golden Jubilee on January 1, 2023.
The school was established in 1973 as Stanmore Crescent Primary School with 5 teachers and 183 students under the guidance of Madam Wimala Liyanage. Over the past 50 years the school has grown to become a prestigious institution with over 4000 students enrolled. The school has produced many successful ladies who have made significant contributions to the society.
The Old Girls’ Association of Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya has organised an event titled “Golden Gala Night & Awards Ceremony for Glorious Sirimavians” to celebrate the school’s Golden Jubilee and honour past Sirimavians who have made significant contributions to the school, community, and the country in their respective fields. The event will be held on July 22, 2023, at Waters Edge. The ceremony aims to recognise and award the achievements of the school’s alumni who have excelled in various fields and contributed positively to society.
