Association of Chief of Police is the prime body representing Sri Lankan Police Officers of and above the ranks of Deputy Inspector General of Police, which also comprises Senior Deputy Inspectors General Police and Inspectors General of Police (IGP)
The objects of the Association of Chief of Police are to assist in developing the policing functions to best serve the people, to address issues on policing and direct determination of policy for the enhancement of Police service to the People, to enlist the professional expertise of former Chiefs of Police, to contribute collectively to the task of policing as an integral aspect of good governance and to liaise with the relevant authorities of the criminal justice system to support the task of security and law & order, maintenance and control of crime and other ancillary matters, including Law Enforcement.
The Chiefs of Police Association is a member Association of the Organization of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka (OPA) since 2017.
