or can be destroyed by anyone. They are born with very special talents which will surely mesmerise anyone who sees them.
August 23 (Monday) marks the 28th anniversary of Sri Lanka Twins Organization which has grown to become one of the world’s most prominent twin’s organizations; lending a helping hand to each and every twin member living in Srilanka.
Born to proud parents Sirisena Gamage and Dolly Gamage twin sisters Upuli and Chamali (Gamage) as kids grew up to become two powerful ladies who have become mentors to over 28000 members of this organization. August 23 in1993 was a turning point in their lives where they got the idea of establishing the Sri Lanka Twins Organization. Upuli Gamage and Mrs. Chamali Gamage are the pillars of success and the giants who take care of the twins community of Sri Lanka. They strive hard under whatever obstacles they face to cater to the betterment of the twins community.
Also the Sri Lanka Twins Organization is striving hard to uplift the lives of families with twins who undergo enormous challenges, pains and difficulties.
Under the supervision of the co-founders of the organization, different pathways have been opened for members to showcase their talents and abilities not only in Sri Lanka but also to the whole world. The Srilanka twins junior and senior cricket teams are considered as the world’s firstever twins cricket teams. With the guidance of Coach Supun Chinthaka Iresh Kumarapperuma they are striving hard to win over the cricket honours. They will be participating in the world’s first ever twins cricket world cup. Currently, the Sri Lanka Twins Organization is in the process of forming the world’s first-ever twins badminton squad letting the Sri Lankan twins community gain new experiences.
It is with immense pride that the Sri Lanka Twins Organization announces the declaration of the National Twins Day together with International Twins Cultural Festival; which is currently scheduled to be held in mid-2022.
Together with the cultural festival, they are with the hope of holding a Guinness World Record which they hope to do by attempting to form the world’s largest twin’s delegation in a country attending an international event. The Sri Lanka Twins Organization comprises different people involved in different sectors such as health officials, media personal and members of the tri-forces. Specially Jayantha Senevirathna and Pooraka Senevirathna are considered as the world’s first ever twin major generals who have taken the name to the top of the world. Also, the former commander of Sri Lanka Navy Admiral Piyal de Silva is a proud member of Sri Lanka Twins Organization.
Last but not least, we should not forget the immense support given by Mahinda Hettiarachchi, the managing director of the Sri Lanka Twins Organization for being the pillar of strength. And a heartfelt gratitude goes to all twin members and their families for joining hands together with the organization to
make the dreams and hopes of 28000 members a success.
