World Renowned conductor Prof. Andre De Quadros will be in Sri Lanka to conduct the launch of the World Interfaith Choral Ensemble produced and directed in collaboration with Sondarie David Rodrigo, Manoj Sanjeewa and Francis D’ Almeida.

The event is to take place at Shangri-La Hotel Hotel on February 27. There will be performances by Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim and Christian Ensembles. Its members are trained for the performance by Sri Lanka’s leading artistic directors.

As a global initiative the World Interfaith Choral Ensemble will bring together artists in support of interfaith unity and peace activities. This richly personal and intensely passionate platform will equip us all to carry on while it will be supported by the like-minded in order to fulfill the objectives.

The event, an evolution of Voices for Peace founded by Haadia Galely- who also founded the World Interfaith Choral Ensemble- will also see the participation of guest artistes like Ridma Weeawardene, Davina and Suren De Kauwe, Shenuk Wijesinghe, Ian Ranasinghe, Dumi Fernando and C.C De Silva.

Ms. Galely together with hospitality partner Shangri-La Hotel Sri Lanka will team up to continue this peace effort by staging ‘Voices for Peace 2’.  This event will also serve as a platform to launch the World Interfaith Choral Ensemble to aid in the process of the goals they wish to achieve.

They were privileged to have worked with selfless individuals in 2019, who graciously donated their time and contributing towards the success of the occasion. These emissaries for peace will once again be collaborating with other names from the industry who will contribute to this undertaking by working together towards mending divides of conflict, animosity and injustice that seem to be the norm rather than the exception in our world, our nations, our communities, and our homes today.

As a global initiative this entity will bring together artists, together in support of Interfaith Unity and Peace activities. This richly personal and intensely passionate platform will equip us all to carry on supported by the like-minded in order to fulfill the objective.
