Sri Lanka State Trading (General) Corporation has introduced a programme to distribute locally produced hand sanitisers throughout the country at a concessionary price with a view to meet the heavy demand for sanitisers in light of the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
The sanitiser with the brand name of “Sylani” was launched by Trade Minister Dr Bandula Gunawardena at the ministry last week under the second phase of the “Rajya Mehewara” programme of the ministry.
Minister Gunawardena said that his ministry has already taken steps to distribute SLS certified face masks island-wide. He said the face masks are being manufactured according to the results of research carried out by the Industrial Technology Institute (ITI).
