Prez discusses Tamil community issues with ITAK MPs

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake who met with Parliamentarians from the Illankai Tamil Arasu Kadchi (ITAK) discussed long standing issues faced by the people in the North and the East.  Talks were held at at the Presidential Secretariat.   During the discussion, the ITAK MPs brought to the President’s attention the longstanding challenges faced by the people in the Northern and Eastern regions.   Parliamentarians Sivagnanam Shritharan, Pathmanathan Sathiyalingam, Shanmugam Kugathasan, Shanakiyan Rasamanickam, Gnanamuthu Srineshan, Kaveenthiran Kodeeswaran, Elayathamby Srinath and Thurairasa Raviharan also attended the meeting.    The discussion followed hours after ITAK and other MPs representing North and the East made numerous requests in Parliament. They wanted security camps in the North and the East dismantled, equal treatment to people in the North and the East ensured in the constitution and justice meted out to relatives of people who have disappeared during the war.
