With reference to the news item carried by us on September 17, under the title ‘UNP - SJB merger possible under new leadership’, SJB MP Mayantha Dissanayake sent the following clarification. “I extended my congratulations to the new UNP Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene while stating that the UNP and SJB should merge under Sajith Premadasa. However, I said that the present UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe will remain for another 26 years”.
