Father of 18-year-old Kavindu Kushan of Kahawala, Yatawathura, Padukka pleads with generous donors to help his son to buy a pair of hearing.
Kavindu, who was a studious boy in school has gradually lost hearing due to a defect in his neuro system. At the age of nine, he had gone totally deaf and the doctors advised him to undergo a cochlear implant which costs around Rs 5 million.


“I am doing an odd job and cannot find such a big amount to get my only son cured. As there is no other way, the doctors recommended him to wear hearing aids for both ears. This too costs around Rs.600, 000 and five years ago a donor gifted him two hearing aids whose power has now weakened. Kavindu cannot hear properly now and he responds to us by looking at our lip movements,” Kavindu’s father Nihal said.


According to Nihal, he is doing odd jobs to feed the family and his wife is looking after Kavindu and his younger sister who is still schooling.
“We kindly request generous donors to help our son,” Nihal said.
