The 15th International Insurance Congress 2015 was held on 7th and 8th of October 2015 at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel, organized by the Sri Lanka Insurance Institute (SLII). It was a very successful event and has received many accolades from the participants, both local and international.
The Sri Lanka Insurance Institute is the pioneer educational body of the Insurance Industry and has organized the Insurance Congress for the 15th consecutive time. The theme of this year’s Congress was ‘Stability and Sustainability of the insurance industry in Sri Lanka’ which was accepted by the large gathering as a very timely and relative theme. The chief guest of this year’s Congress was Mr. Daniel Cossette, Head of Asia Pacific for Life Reinsurance, Munich Reinsurance Company, Singapore and the Guest of Honor was Ms. Indrani Sugathadasa, Chairperson, Insurance Board of Sri Lanka.
The Principal sponsors of the event was Munich Re India services Ltd. Protection Re and K M D Reinsurance brokers joined as overseas partner sponsors. Sri Lankan Insurance Companies and Broker Companies contributed by way of sponsorships and by participation.
The President of SLII, Mr. Thusitha Nandasiri stated that he and the Council was delighted with the overwhelming success of the congress and added that he is grateful to his fellow council members, the staff of SLII, the sponsors and the event partner, ICONN Media (Pvt) Ltd. for a job well done.
