At last week’s tea auction held on 25th October, 2017 an invoice of OP1 from Avissawella Tea Factory selling under the Sithaka Mark secured an equal all time Colombo Tea Auction Record price of Rs.1, 350 per kg in the Low Grown Category.
This tea was purchased by Qualitea Ceylon (Pvt.) Ltd and was sold through the catalogue of Lanka Commodity Brokers Ltd.
Avissawella Tea Factory produces quality Low Grown teas and is now among the best-established mark in the region. This Estate is owned by Lalith Liyanage.
