Browns Hotels & Resorts launched a humanitarian relief effort to uplift the community amidst the economic downturn. Sri Lanka is currently facing a major economic crisis paving the way for food and fuel shortages.
With the current economic conditions, people are struggling to make ends meet. The latest humanitarian program launchedwas to provide relief to those who are most affected.
The project includes the distribution of dry ration packs to the most poverty-stricken families nominated by the Grama Niladhari of the divisional secretariat and for the non-profit establishments such as children homes, elders’homes and the incapacitated houses nearby. The project was initiatedin response to the current situation, in the localities of Dickwella, Mirissa, Bentota, Pasikuda, Sigiriya and Waikkal, where Browns Hotels & Resorts operate in.
“As a business, we strongly believe that it is important to give back to the community as it is our social responsibility. Browns Hotels has always been a community facilitator in the forefront sustaining the nation through calamities and emergencies,” said Eksath Wijerathne, Group General Manager of Browns Hotels & Resorts commenting on the programme.
