Fintelekt, in association with the Insurance Association of Sri Lanka (IASL) is organising the first edition of the Insurance Industry Awards of Sri Lanka today in Colombo.
The keynote address for the event, to be held at Taj Samudra, will be delivered by Special Assignments Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama.
The industry awards will be given out across several categories including excellence in claims service, excellence in motor insurance, product and technology innovation, among others.
A shortlist of finalists has already been publicised and the anticipation among the participating industry players is high.
Fintelekt CEO Shirish Pathak said, “This is an excellent occasion for insurance companies to celebrate their achievements and reward the hard work and dedication of employees, agents and stakeholders. We would like to congratulate all the shortlisted finalists and look forward to awarding the winners on July 15.”
“These awards are consistent with the IASL’s objective to promote professionalism, best practices and high standards to enhance the confidence among the insurance public,” stated IASL President Dirk Pereira.
The Insurance Industry Awards of Sri Lanka will recognize and honour the achievements of insurance companies in Sri Lanka that have met measurable and tangible business objectives. Each submission was analysed and processed by Fintelekt, with a final review by an eminent and independent jury.
The jury panel consisted of Insurance Ombudsman of Sri Lanka Dr. Wickrema Weerasooria, National Insurance Trust Fund Chairman Manjula De Silva, IASL Secretary General Upali Samarasinghe and former Towers Watson, India Managing Director Products, Markets and Distribution R. Krishnamurthy, former.
The award categories for 2016: Excellence in Agency Distribution (Life Insurance), Micro insurance Contribution (Life Insurance) Excellence in Claims Service (Life Insurance), Excellence in Growth – Life Insurance, Product Innovation (Life Insurance), Technology Innovative (Life Insurance), Marketing Initiative (Life Insurance), CSR Contribution (Life Insurance), Excellence in Growth - Motor Insurance, Excellence in Growth – Medical Insurance, Technology Innovation (General Insurance) and Marketing Initiative (General Insurance).
